Exploring AI at a Mile High

Susan Adams

Susan Adams is a pioneering leader in post-secondary education, championing a human-centered approach to integrating AI that enhances rather than replaces the critical role of educators. With over 25 years of experience as a curriculum strategist and faculty coach, she serves as the Associate Director of Teaching and Learning at Achieving the Dream where she spearheads programs to build institutional capacity and foster faculty development for student success.

As the founder of Women in AI Colorado and creator of Women in AI Labs, Susan is scaling a national movement for human-centric AI education. Susan is building a network of face-to-face learning laboratories that prioritize connection, collaboration, and co-creation. Her methodology centers on agency, responsibility, and creative intent, helping women and educators claim their power to shape AI rather than be shaped by it. Susan envisions AI as a collaborative partner that coexists with and elevates the irreplaceable capacities of human empathy, creativity, and wisdom.
